Carbon officials made motions on a number of employee salary positions last week during the county salary board's monthly meeting.

Motions included:• Sheriff: Establish the position of one special deputy sheriff at $14.35 per hour, retroactive to Nov. 21; and abolish the position of one special deputy sheriff trainee at $13.67 per hour, retroactive to Nov. 21.• Animal shelter: Change the rate of one part-time K-9 officer from $9.53 per hour, to $9.26 per hour, effective Dec. 1.• Corrections: Change the rate of one part-time corrections officer from $11.26 per hour to $11.59 per hour, effective Dec. 7.• Election: Abolish the positions of three election board members at $70 per day, effective Dec. 1.- Amy Miller
