This community service program will positively impact the community by providing holiday cheer and gift giving to seniors who are least likely to receive a present during the holiday season, who are lonely and financially needy.People can select a tag from the tree in the library which lists a gift preference written on it and can then go shopping for that gift and return the gift (wrapped or unwrapped) with the tag attached to it to Western Pocono Community Library no later than Tuesday.Home Instead Senior Care will then deliver the gifts to the seniors. p.m.Dec. 14 at the township building in Kunkletown.Library exhibitsThe library is home to two unique exhibits, the Phoebe Conrad Shadowbox Collection and a Beatrix Potter Exhibit.The Phoebe Conrad Shadowbox Collection is showcased in its own climate controlled gallery. Each of the 34 dioramas depicts a scene from a classic storybook or nursery rhyme. There is also a shadow box titled Madonna and Child, as well as many paintings by Phoebe Conrad.The Beatrix Potter Exhibit was donated by Jacqueline Mock, member of WPCL's board of trustees and one of the world's most noted experts on the subject of Beatrix Potter and Peter Rabbit. Mrs. Mock has a deep admiration for Beatrix Potter. She has been telling Beatrix Potter's story for over 30 years as a guest lecturer through her own illustrations based on Potter's books and in a slideshow of her visits to Potter's childhood homes and her farms in England.Musical programMiddlecreek Christian Church, located at 343 Dorshimer Road, Kresgeville, will present a musical program titled "A Glorious Night," at 7
