Tamaqua Area School Board reorganizes

Tamaqua Area School Board will proceed under the same directorship next year.

Longtime Director Larry Wittig was again reappointed board president during the board's annual reorganization meeting on Tuesday.The board also reappointed Director Thomas Rottet as board vice president.Directors Daniel Schoener, Eileen Meiser and Melanie Dillman were absent.The board set its 2017 meeting schedule, and will continue to hold workshops on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., and regular meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.The board set its special and standing committees as follows:• Auxiliary Committee: Rottet, chairman; Bryan Miller; and Mark Rother• Finance Committee: Schoener, chairman; Aaron Frantz; and Wittig• Education Committee: Meiser, chairwoman; Wanda Zuber; and Dillman• Health and Welfare Committee: Rottet, with Dillman as alternate• Hearing Committee: Zuber, chairwoman; Meiser; Wittig; Rottet, alternate; Rother, alternate• Uniform Committee: Schoener, chairman; Rottet; and Zuber• Legislative Awareness: Wittig• PSBA Representative: Wittig• I.U.
