Golden Agers

Panther Valley Golden Agers met Nov. 14 with 29 members attending. The singing of "God Bless America" opened the program. Songs paying tribute to the veterans were also sung in honor of Veterans Day.A total of 44 members enjoyed the annual Christmas party Nov. 20 at La Dolce Casa Restaurant. Entertainment was provided by the Salvation Army Bell Choir.The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Mondayat St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall. Members celebrating birthdays in September, October, November and December will be recognized. This will be the last meeting of the year.The first meeting of 2017 will be the second Monday in March, depending on the weather.NesquehoningVFW auxiliaryThe annual Christmas Party of the Nesquehoning VFW Auxiliary will be held at 6 p.m. onDec. 15, at Lengyel's Restaurant.A brief business meeting will be held. Election of a junior vice president is on the agenda.District President Guyette Calles of Tobyhanna 509 will conduct the auxiliary inspection.
