A Carbon County man admitted on Friday in the county court to having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl.

Timothy Mark Andrews, 29, of Beaver Meadows, pleaded to one count of corruption of a minor in sexual manner, a felony three, before Judge Joseph J. Matika. In exchange for the plea, the district attorney's office dropped more serious charges of indecent assault on a person less than 16, statutory sexual assault, felony one and two, respectively, and indecent assault, a misdemeanor two.State police charged that Andrews had a sexual relationship with a then 15-year-old female over a two-year period of Dec. 1, 2010, to Jan. 1, 2012. During that relationship Andrews gave the female alcohol and drugs, including the date rape drug ecstasy. He admitted having sexual intercourse with the girl during the time frame. The girl reported the relationship to police. Troopers said Andrews was 24 at the time.The charges fall under the provisions of Megan's Law. Andrews will be evaluated by the state sexual assessment board to determine if he is a violent sexual predator. If it is determined he is, then he must register for life as a sexual offender. If not, the registration period is 25 years. Matika also ordered the adult probation office prepare a presentence investigation report.Andrews is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charges, unable to post bail.
