Heroin, opioid prevention program set for Thursday

Heroin and Opioid Prevention Education will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdayat Panther Valley Junior/Senior High Auditorium.

HOPE was developed in response to the growing concern around the heroin and opioid epidemic in the area, as well as throughout the state of Pennsylvania. After attending this program, participants will be able to identify:• What is Heroin? What are Opioids?• Signs and symptoms of opiate use• Effects of use on health, relationships, and life• Local resourcesThe program will be presented by the St. Luke's Miners/Panther Valley Adopt A School Program in collaboration with: STEP-Up Carbon, STEP-Up Tamaqua, Safer Streets for Tamaqua's Little Feet and Carbon Monroe Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission.
