A quick response by Palmerton fire fighters kept damage to a minimal Saturday morning.

The fire was first reported just after 10 a.m. in a home in the 1500 block of Mauch Chunk road.

Fire officials discovered the incident originated in the kitchen of the two story wood frame dwelling. firemen were scene examining an appliance they took out of the home.

Palmerton fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.
