Schuylkill Transportation System received one lone bid for Miss Dolly Trolley, but it was $47,874 less than the $50,000 minimum county commissioners set for its sale.

Mark Gaudino, whose address was unavailable, submitted the bid, for $2,126. The bids for Miss Dolly Trolley and about 20 other vehicles were opened last week.The other vehicles include a salt spreader, for which Amy Naftzinger Luckinbill submitted the top bid of $110, a Bobcat Case Loader, for which Carl Felty submitted the top build of $2,100, and several buses.Commissioners expect to award the sales when they meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 7.The trolley is a 26-passenger bus, built in 2007, with about 30,000 on the odometer.STS rented it out for special events until federal regulations no longer allowed the county to do that.Miss Dolly Trolley was named for 34-year STS bus driver and operations safety supervisor Dorothy "Dolly" Vinchofsky Kuehn.According to her obituary, Kuehn retired May 12, 2013, but immediately returned as operations coordinator until illness forced her to stop.Kuehn died on Feb. 3 in Hurricane, West Virginia, of stomach cancer.
