Jim Thorpe Area School District's board of education held a special meeting on Wednesday with a focus on athletic hires.

Having been tabled from the last meeting in order to discuss the athletic personnel candidates up for hire, the board voted on two volunteers, four coaches, and two resignations.• Milton Moronta was approved as a volunteer boys' basketball coach.• Patrick Crowley was approved as a volunteer wrestling coach.• Kaylie Otto was approved as a JV cheerleading coach for a salary of $770.• Gavrielle Mele was approved as a JV cheerleading coach for a salary of $1,105.• Joseph Oliver was approved as a wrestling coach for a salary of $1,200.• Katelyn Albert's resignation of an assistant softball coach position was accepted.• David Marino's resignation of an assistant wrestling coach position was accepted.• The vote on Bobi Jo Lienhard's position as assistant softball coach for a salary of $3,120 was tabled until the next board meeting, in order to allow for a meeting with head coach Lori Lienhard.
