The Lutheran Church of St. John in the Heights, 319 South Ave., Jim Thorpe, will host its ninth annual nativity/crèche display this weekend.
This year a large, flat wooden crèche has been added to the nativity display. It was created by Gary Kistler of New Ringgold. He and his wife, Ruth, St. John’s organist, have donated the new addition for the church’s annual display. It will be set up outside the church.The public is invited to come and see Kistler’s creation, as well as more than 500 other articles depicting this blessed event.Viewing times will be from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.Free transportation will be provided from the Josiah White Park in downtown Jim Thorpe to the church and back for those enjoying a day in Jim Thorpe, or parking is available at the church in the parking lot across from St. John’s.Light refreshments will be served. The public is also welcome to tour the recently developed Angelica’s Prayer Garden to further enhance the season of Advent.
