The Tamaqua Elementary School recently honored its "Raider Students of the Month" in a big way.
In the past, students of the month had the opportunity to appear before the Tamaqua Area School Board of Directors to be honored at a public meeting. This year, students will be honored at in-school assemblies and then be treated to ice cream with assistant principal, James J. Fasnacht. This was the first such assembly of the year and it came on a day that included a pep rally and a costume parade. The pep rally featured the raider cheerleaders and football team as they prepared to face one of their biggest rivals. But, before all that, a select group of students was honored for their good qualities, academic achievements, character and citizenship, as nominated by their teachers. At Tamaqua Elementary, those students included: William Moyer, Bayden Witkowski, Celicia Ulicny, Cadance Fannock, Savannah Wilson, Vincenzo Valentine, Delia Coggiano, Jacob Delp, Livia Miller, Layla Kunkel, Declan Coleman, Sarah Hope, Sofia Figueroa, Nay'don Edmonds, Dennis Dailey, Luke Fronheiser, Aubrey Clausius, Lauren Boyer, Gia Clemson, Madison Lindabelle Kurtz, Natalia Williams, Kevin Lawfer, Samual Shafer, Mathew Giuliano, Gabrielle Eroh and Kenneth Bailey.
