A Tamaqua man will serve up to two years in state prison after failing to comply with the terms of his probation.

John L. Smith II, 27, was sentenced by Schuylkill County President Judge William E. Baldwin.The judge had sentenced Smith to 23 months of probation after Smith on Oct. 14, 2015, admitted to charges of defiant trespass, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft filed by Coaldale police.The theft charge was from June 1, 2014; the possession of drug paraphernalia from Oct. 22, 2014; and trespassing from Oct. 28, 2014.Other court rulings involving local police departments included:Tonya N. Braun,25, of Tamaqua: Charged by Tamaqua police with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance on Oct. 7, 2015.Judge John E. Domalakes sentenced Braun to one to two years in state prison, and to pay court costs and fees.A third count of delivery, three counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility were dropped.
