Ready to jump into the Christmas season?

Maranatha Productions will present Charles Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol" at 2 p.m. Sunday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 30 Carbon St. in Weatherly.The part of Scrooge, a miserable old miser who thinks Christmas is a lot of "humbug" until he is visited by three life-changing Christmas spirits on Christmas Eve, will be played by Eric Cooper. The one-hour production will bring to life Victorian England with actors in colorful costumes and will offer Christmas cheer with spontaneous audience participation.This program is a classic, but will be presented in a humorous and intriguing manner.The production of "A Christmas Carol" is sponsored by the church.Before the performance, the Weatherly Ministerium will host a short Thanksgiving service.The service will allow visitors to journey together through Thanksgiving, remembering God's blessing and then into the Christmas season being reminded of the attitude of Ebenezer Scrooge, who during the course of the play, comes to also know the blessings of life.There will be a freewill offering taken during the program. Refreshments will follow the program.
