One injured in Hometown crash

One driver was taken to the hospital after a Friday morning crash on Route 309 in Hometown.

Responders were dispatched to the corner of Maple Street and Claremont Avenue (Route 309) shortly after 8 a.m. when a dark gray Jeep collided with a cream-colored Subaru Forester less than one-quarter mile north of Hometown Five Points intersection.Both vehicles ended up facing southbound in the northbound lanes of the four-lane highway, coming to rest in the vicinity of Kupres Twins Photography, 240 Claremont Ave.The driver of the Subaru, a Hometown woman, indicated she felt OK and declined treatment at the scene.The driver of the Jeep, a female, was able to walk across the highway and was escorted by paramedics to the Lehigh Valley Health Network satellite facility in Hometown, after which she was taken to the hospital by Lehighton Ambulance.The drivers' names were not available.The cars were removed from the scene by Hope's Collision and Towing.Responding were Rush Township Police, Hometown Fire Police and Hometown Fire Company.
