Shawn Jeffrey Reinhart, 35, pleaded to one count each of terroristic threats, endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person.Nanovic imposed a total prison term of six to one day less 24 months. Reinhart, however, received credit for 185 days already spent in jail on the charges and was paroled. The jail term will be followed by one year of probation.Reinhart was arrested on May 14 when state police at Lehighton responded to a domestic incidentin the area of 2600 Long Run Road in Franklin Township. Reinhart got into an altercation with his live-in girlfriend. During the argument firearms were displayed. At one point Reinhart used his 10-year-old son to shield himself. When troopers arrived they found him a distance from the home holding two weapons. He was disarmed without incident.Reinhart's attorney, Hollianne C. Snyder of the public defender's office, said Reinhart has mental health issues and is now on medication that is helping with the problems. His girlfriend appeared in court and asked that the court impose the time-served sentence so Reinhart could return home and provide for his family. She said nothing like the incident ever occurred between them in their 15-plus years together. In addition to the prison term and probation period, Nanovic also ordered Reinhart to get a mental health evaluation, attend and complete a anger management counseling, pay court costs of about $1,000 and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and probation.
