Two are charged in Penn Forest burglary

Two people were charged with burglary and related offenses as a result of an incident that happened between Nov. 7 and Nov. 11 in Penn Forest Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said Joshua Ackerman, 19, of Penn Forest Township, was arraigned and committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, in lieu of $20,000 bail, while a 15-year-old boy from the township will have charges filed against him through the Carbon County Juvenile Probation Office.Police said it is alleged they broke a window to gain access to a residence along Bowman Road in the township, and also used a crowbar to damage a padlock to gain entry to a shed on the property.Taken in the burglary were fireworks, miscellaneous DVDs, video games, photographs and an all-terrain vehicle.
