As many as five people were injured Wednesday evening in a head-on crash along Route 209 in Coaldale.

 The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. at the intersection at the entrance to St. Luke's hospital.

 Coaldale  fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway and detouring traffic around the scene. Coaldale police are investigating the incident.
