Tamaqua incidents

Assault and harassment:Raymond Trevorah, 43, of Owl Creek Road, Tamaqua, was cited by Tamaqua police after a domestic incident on Oct. 31.

On scene shortly before noon, officers spoke with Trevorah, who said his girlfriend struck him with one of his steel-toe boots during a verbal argument. He had a cut on his left hand. Officers then spoke with the girlfriend, who said Trevorah was pulling her hair, then struck her in the face and thigh with his steel-toe boot. When she called police, Trevorah told her he would hit himself with the boot and claim she did it so they would "both be arrested."Trevorah was cited for simple assault and harassment.Violating PFA:Tamaqua Police have filed a citation against Matthew M. Hartranft, 32, of Tamaqua for violating a protection from abuse order.Hartranft attempted to enter a homeon Coal Street in Tamaqua at 7:06 p.m. Oct. 31. He left the scene before police arrived.Anyone with information on his whereabouts may contact police at 570-668-5000.Soliciting without permit:A Bloomsburg man was cited by Tamaqua police after his company failed to get a soliciting permit.Tyson Bradley Hobbs, 18, was going door-to-door on Oct. 18 on Cottage Avenue asking residents about their electrical use. He was working for the Spark Energy Company, which is headquartered in Houston, Texas. Although Hobbs told officers he was living in Bloomsburg, his only identification, other than the energy company's badge, was an identification card issued in Utah. He was cited for soliciting without a permit.Police caution residents about door-to-door salesmen and recommend they always ask to see a solicitation permit and identification. Report anyone without a permit to police.
