Parole/probation revocation hearings on petitions filed by the adult probation office against defendants who violated the terms of their release were held by county judges recently.

Eric Safianow, 21, of Jim Thorpe, had his probation revoked on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance on petition of probation officer Joseph Bettine for violating conditions by testing positive for opiates, was to refrain from possession of any firearms, rifles, deadly weapons or prohibitive offensive weapons on his person, vehicle or home while under supervision, made threats to another person with a loaded handgun and violated the zero tolerance condition.Judge Joseph J. Matika resentenced him to serve 60 days to 23 months in the county prison effective Aug. 29.Richard Roberts, 39, of Summit Hill, had his parole revoked on a charge of simple assault on petition of probation officer Clifford Eckhart for violating conditions by failing to report to the probation office as directed, absconded from his approved residence, failed to submit to scheduled drug screens and failed to engage in and complete mental health treatment.Judge Steven R. Serfass resentenced him to serve 100 days in the county prison with credit for 19 already served.Chad Muniz, 40, of Galivants, South Carolina, had his probation revoked on a charge of retail theft on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by failing to perform 25 hours of community service.Serfass resentenced him to serve three to six months in the county prison with credit for 34 days already served.John Bartenope, 39, of Lansford, had his parole revoked on a charge of receiving stolen property on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by being charged with a new criminal offense.Matika resentenced him to serve 60 days in the county prison with credit for 60 days already served, and paroled him.
