Stroudsburg woman rolls vehicle in Ross

Courtney K. Harris, 25, of Stroudsburg, escaped with what police said were suspected minor injuries after her 2009 Volkswagen Jetta rolled over in a crash at 7:55 a.m. Oct. 24 on Route 3004 in Ross Township.

State police at Lehighton said she was assisted out of her vehicle after it rolled over and was transported for a medical evaluation to Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by the West End EMS responders.Police said she was westbound on the road (Kunkletown Road), east of Ross Road, and was traveling at a high rate of speed.Police said a witness told them Harris was driving in a careless manner and was attempting to negotiate a right-hand curve in the roadway.She lost control of the vehicle, which began to spin counterclockwise, at which time the car exited the westbound shoulder and struck an embankment with its passenger's side.Police said the car began to roll over as it impacted a fence on the property at 2101 Kunkletown Road, and came to rest on its roof in the property's driveway.Police said Harris was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
