Lehighton holiday craft show Saturday

Lehighton Rotary Club is partnering with Lehighton Area High School FCCLA to present the fourth annual Lehighton Handmade Holiday Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the educational and community programs of the two organizations.This event will take place at Lehighton Area High School, located at 1000 Union St. in Lehighton.Admission is free."We are excited to offer this event to the community again this season. To be able to showcase more than 50 very talented local artists is something of which we are very proud," said Lehighton Rotary Club Past President Erica Heery."The craft show will showcase handmade country primitives; jewelry; woodworking items; pet treats and accessories; candles; lotions; crocheted items; candy and other goodies; and everything in between," Heery said.In addition to the wide variety of unique homemade crafts, there will be an early opportunity for photos with Santa Claus.There will also be a Chinese auction and used book sale with all proceeds benefiting Lehighton Area Memorial Library; face painting; a visit by local favorite, Buster the Clown; and a food drive.For each nonperishable food or toiletry item that is donated at Lehighton Handmade Holiday Craft Show, the donor will receive a complimentary door prize ticket to be entered to win a free Christmas tree from Yenser's Tree Farm in Mahoning Township.Without the food or toiletry donation, the participation fee for the door prize raffle is $1 per ticket.All of these donations will be given to Bare Necessities Pantry at St. Peter's Community Resource Center and Church in Franklin Township.Homemade food and refreshments will also be available for purchase.For more information about Lehighton Handmade Holiday Craft Show, contact Heery at
