One man is dead and another injured in a shooting incident that occurred in Kline Township, Schuylkill County, Tuesday morning.

State police at Frackville, township police and the county's district attorney's office are investigating the shooting in the McAdoo Heights section of the township.The deceased man was identified as David Gombert, 27, of Hazle Township, Luzerne County.Eric Mumaw, 29, of Kline Township, has non-life-threatening injuries.Trooper Alan J. Zulick, who is lead investigator, said a preliminary investigation indicated that an altercation between Mumaw and Gombert had occurred in the area of 35 James St. at 9:25 a.m.In the altercation a gun was discharged with both receiving injuries, Gombert's being fatal.Mumaw received aid for his injuries, the trooper said.Gombert was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner's office.When troopers arrived on scene township police and McAdoo police were already present.Troopers are asking anyone who might have witnessed the incident or has information relevant to the investigation to contact them at 570-874-5300.Troopers canvassed the neighborhood and spoke to several residents.The investigation is continuing.
