Emergency personnel from West Penn Township responded to a crash Monday afternoon at the intersection of Routes 309 and 443 in the village of South Tamaqua. The crash occurred in the northbound passing lanes of Route 309. A tractor-trailer struck the rear portion of another tractor-trailer at the traffic light. Responding was the West Penn Fire Company No. 1 with members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance evaluating the operators of the rigs. West Penn fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.
