A report of a suspicious car parked on Willing Street in Tamaqua, with the engine running, resulted in a Tamaqua man going to jail on Oct. 19.

Officers were called to the 400 block of Willing Street, where witnesses said a silver Cadillac had been parked, with the engine running, for two hours. One witness said the male driver had left the car and entered a home on that block. The officer knocked on the door, but no one answered. The officer ran the license plate on the Cadillac, which came back as stolen. He had the car towed and impounded. That's when Gregorio Flores, 26, of 101 Rowe Street, came out of a house and asked the officer what he was doing to his (Flores') car. He was handcuffed and arrested, then arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, on charges of receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license.Bail was set at $25,000 percentage, which he was unable to post. He was taken to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville.
