A Tremont man was killed after being hit by a vehicle while walking on Route 895 in Washington Township, Schuylkill County early Sunday morning.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said John Anthony Kocher, 53, was walking in the eastbound lane near Covered Bridge Road, when a westbound vehicle driven by Alicia Hope Kintzel, 34. of Pine Grove, struck him just before 1 a.m.Kocher was pronounced dead at the scene by a Schuylkill County deputy coroner.Police said the investigation is ongoing.
