Quick response by area firefighters saved a home Sunday afternoon in Weatherly.

Just before 3 p.m. neighbors reported a dwelling fire at 1006 North St. with smoke and flames showing.Fire companies from Weatherly as well as Schuylkill and Luzerne counties raced to the scene. Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames, staying on scene for about an hour.Police were on scene, investigating the interior of the ranch-style wood frame dwelling.
