St. Luke's Monroe Campus in Bartonsville celebrated the grand opening of its seventh hospital on Oct. 13. The new hospital encompasses four stories and 180,000 square feet. It cost $100 million and has 108 large, private patient rooms, including 12 beds for critical care patients, as well as state-of-the-art operating and procedure rooms, modern technologies from GE Healthcare, and a helipad. The Emergency Department features 33 exam and treatment rooms and is equipped to handle 60,000 patient visits per year.

In addition to its location on Route 611, the new hospital is close to Interstate 80 and Route 33.The hospital's soft opening was Oct. 3, when the first hospital and emergency patients were admitted.A new medical office building for providers is under construction near the hospital. It is expected to open in the summer of 2017.
