Seventeen first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program this week by Judge Steven R. Serfass.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Carol Ann Cressman, 49, of Coaldale, was placed on a charge of driving under the influence. She was arrested on March 12 along White Street in Weissport by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.09 BAC.She was assessed $450 for the cost of the program and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.Brian Francis Dutko,24, of Harleysville, Montgomery County, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on March 12 by state police at Lehighton along Route 248 in Franklin Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and his license was suspended for 60 days.Olivia Eryn Green,19, of Palmerton, was placed on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. She was arrested on May 25 by state police at Lehighton in the area of Fireline and Sand Quarry roads in Lower Towamensing Township.She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.Caleb Joseph Herman,26, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on July 4 along Route 209 in Jim Thorpe by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.Jason Allen Hoppes,50, of Fawn Grove, York County, was placed on a charge of providing false information for the purchase of a firearm. He was arrested on March 5 by Franklin Township police for an incident at Buck's Sporting Goods along Indian Hill Road.He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.Trevor David Hottenstein,25, of Palmerton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 26 in the 200 block of Delaware Avenue by Palmerton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and license suspended for 60 days.Ryan Jeffrey Kaboly,19, of Bethlehem, was placed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested Beltzville State Park rangers on Feb. 2.He was assessed $650 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.James Edward Kehs,20, of Bethlehem, was placed on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested on May 20 by Lehighton police in the 300 block of South Ninth Street.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendations for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.Kody Lee Keiper,24, of Walnutport, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was arrested on May 29 in the area of 92 E. Blakeslee Blvd. by Lehighton police.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 25 hours of community service.Grant Thomas Kishbaugh,19, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 25 in the 200 block of Delaware Avenue by Palmerton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service, and his license was suspended for 90 days.Cody William Kostro,22, of Slatington, was placed on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on June 18 along Route 248 in Lower Towamensing Township by state police at Lehighton during a traffic stop.He was assessed $50 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.Mandy Joe Knappenberger,35, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested on July 2 by Jim Thorpe police in the area of 205 South St.She was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.Hunter Daniel Matalavage,20, of Tamaqua, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 13 along Darkes Creek Road at the entrance of Lehigh Gorge State Park in Penn Forest Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 90 days.Nicholas Clark Newton,21, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on May 23 along Route 209 at Bridge Street by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600, ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 90 days.Kristine Brittany Stenluson,28, of Albrightsville, was place on a retail theft charge. She was arrested on March 1 by state police at Fern Ridge for an incident at the Dollar General Store along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township. She was an employee at the store and was accused of taking $5,000 worth of items, estimated between 600 and 700, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed by police.She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service. No restitution was sought by the victim.Joseph Clemens Visnosky IV,18, of Palmerton, was placed on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested on June 29 by Palmerton police in the area of 600 Alley F.He was assessed $450 and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.Eric Jon Yost,41, of Jim Thorpe, was placed for nine months on a charge of DUI. He was arrested on Jan. 17 by state police at Lehighton along Route 209 in Franklin Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.He was assessed $600 and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and his license was suspended for 60 days.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program. Those charged with DUI must also follow all recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
