An attempted burglary at a Schuylkill County business that occurred early this morning is being investigated.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred at Zaprazny's Junk Yard, 2401 Summer Valley Road (Route 895), in East Brunswick Township.Troopers said sometime after midnight, criminals attempted to access an ATM that was secured inside a cinder block storage unit. The suspects used a blunt object, possibly a sledgehammer, to break several pieces of cinder blocks away from the south wall, creating an approximately 1-by-2-foot hole in the exterior wall. The suspects also used some type of wire cutters to sever pieces of rebar that were inside the cinder block.Troopers said the owner, who was asleep at the time, was awakened by the banging and discovered the damage. The suspects fled the area before the owner arrived.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-874-5300.
