Adult Day Olympic Games held in Lehighton

Blue Mountain Adult Day Services, located at 525 Iron St., Lehighton, was the site of the Adult Day Olympic Games recently.

Competition was held in September, ending with an awards ceremony recognizing winners in eight categories.Ribbons and awards were given to first place winners in the Frisbee Toss, Bean Bags, Basketball, Ring Toss, Football, Horseshoes, Towel Fold and Chuck the Chicken.All 28 participants received a goody bag, a special cheeseburger picnic lunch with strawberry sundaes for snack, and enjoyed dancing to the musical sounds of entertainers Tanya and Marge.Adult Day Services of the Blue Mountain Health System offers an alternative to nursing care while providing respite for those caring for someone at home.The program offers a warm, friendly atmosphere and the opportunity for seniors to develop friendships and participate in various activities.Adult Day Services is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.For more information, contact Adult Day Services at 610-379-4880.
