The Tamaqua Board of Health held its October meeting at the Tamaqua Municipal Building with Rosemarie Noftz, Earl Boettger, Christine Zizelmann R.N., Shirley Becker and health enforcement officer Ken Fenstermacher in attendance.Fenstermacher reported he issued one additional health license since the September meeting, bringing the total to 57. He also received and adjusted 11 complaints: one leaking sewer; one animal waste; seven for trash; and two buildings condemned as unfit for human habitation.There were no cases of reportable diseases in September.TEPTOThe Tamaqua Elementary Parent Teacher Organization will meet at 6:30

p.m.Nov. 9 in the school library. This is a change in date as the organization usually meets on a Tuesday.The meeting will include an election of officers.Membership applications will be accepted until Oct. 31.Tamaqua seniorsThe Tamaqua Senior Citizens met Oct. 20 with 56 members in attendance. Vice President Nancy Gerber conducted the business session.An inspirational reading "Autumn in Her Fullest Glory" was offered by the chaplain.Kerry Lasky will be the guest speaker at this week's meeting.The group is open to anyone 55 or older. Meetings are held at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Tamaqua YMCA, 1201 E. Broad St.Clothing driveSTEP-Up Tamaqua is conducting a clothing drive of gently used business attire, which will be used to help people get back on their feet and contribute to the community.Clothing may be dropped off at the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce office, 37 W.
