Palmerton Library seeks items for auction

The Palmerton Area Library will sponsor its annual handcrafted items auction beginningNov. 4 and running untilDec. 2.

Anyone who would like to can donate quality, handcrafted items that are knitted, crocheted, quilted or wooden; jewelry; dolls or Christmas items. Items need to be delivered to the library by Nov. 1.In December, the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts' Senior Theatre Company will present an adaptation of "You Are Special" by Max Lucado.The show will be presented at 10:30

a.m.Dec. 16 at the Palmerton Area Library Gallery. It will be free and open to the public.The play is about the town of Wemmickville, which is filled with many unique wooden people. These wooden people, also known as Wemmicks, love to show off their skills. To judge these skills, they all use a system of stickers - stars for the successes and dots for mistakes. There's only one Wemmick in Wemmickville who has no stars at all and his name is Punchinello. He wants a star so badly that he'll do anything.Punchinello goes on a journey with a special friend, and in the end, he learns that loving oneself is the key to happiness.The library has a variety of activities for the young and old. For children, there is the Preschool Story Hour, Watercolor Painting Classes, Homework Helpers, Teen Advisory Group and Rachel's Music Together. For grown-ups, there are the yoga classes, Book Club, Knitting Club, Fiber Guild and Quilt Guild. Check out all the library has to offer at
