Tamaqua Police cited John Welfel, 24, of East Union Street, Tamaqua, after receiving a report about suspicious persons on Oct. 9.

Officers received a call about two people, possible drug overdoses, in a car in the 400 block of Biddle Street at 4 p.m. They found Welfel and a woman, who were both sleeping.Welfel said they were spending their nights at a home on East Union Street, but spending their days in the car due to the people who hang around the house during the day.The car was filled with clothing and other belongings, including an eyeglass case containing two hypodermic needles, which Welfel claimed as his.He was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
