Seven defendants in pending drug cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Tuesday. Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted the pleas from the following:

Two salesPhilip V. Pecora Jr., 37, of Albrightsville, entered guilty pleas to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, both stemming from drug sales.Nesquehoning police set up the sales on Aug. 5 and 6, 2014, using a confidential informant. Pecora sold heroin to the CI in the first sale and suboxone in the second sale. The sales occurred in the area of 152 Coal St.Matika accepted the pleas but deferred sentencing, ordering the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.Brick of heroinChandler Adam George, 21, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of criminal conspiracy - possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.He was arrested following an incident on May 26. Agents of the state Attorney General's office learned from a confidential informant that George and Erin Fisher were going to Hazleton to purchase a brick of heroin and then return to Carbon County. A surveillance operation was set up, and after the purchase was completed a vehicle stop was made and the heroin was found in the car.George admitted to a heroin addiction problem. He is currently an inmate in the county prison facing a probation violation proceeding.Matika sentenced him to serve three to 18 months in prison with credit for 90 days already served and paroled. He will not be released due to the probation proceeding still pending. He was also ordered to render 50 hours of community service when paroled, supply a DNA sample, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use.Other pleasAnthony Miguel Bello, 31, of Bronx, New York, pleaded to one count each of possession of a controlled substance - cocaine, and possession of a small amount of marijuana.He was arrested on Feb. 27 along Interstate 80 in East Side Borough by state police at Fern Ridge following a traffic stop. Troopers found three bags of cocaine and one bag of marijuana in the vehicle.Matika deferred sentencing, ordering the probation office to prepare a PSI.Christopher Michael Woomer, 40, of Altoona, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Jan. 12 along I-80 in Kidder Township by state police at Fern Ridge following a traffic stop. He was a passenger in the vehicle.Matika imposed a fine of $150 and costs.Elizabeth A. Garrett, 54, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana. She was arrested on April 6 by Lansford police following a traffic stop on Route 902 (Lansford-Summit Hill hill).She was fined $150 and costs.Kayla Marie Leibowitz, 27, of Coaldale, formerly of Lansford, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on Feb. 22 by Mahoning Township police.Sentencing was deferred.Mark Russell Focht, 26, of Tamaqua, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on April 25, 2014, in the area of 25 W. Columbus Ave., by Nesquehoning police.He was previously placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked for violating conditions.Matika placed him on probation for six months and ordered he render 25 hours of community service.All defendants sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
