Two people were pronounced dead Saturday in Monroe County after a crash left their vehicle partially submerged in water.

According to state police at Lehighton, the victims were a 47-year-old man from Saylorsburg, who was driving the black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, and a 39-year-old female passenger from Lebanon, New Jersey.The vehicle was discovered down an embankment and lying on its roof Saturday around 4:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of Kunkletown Road in Ross Township.It was lying in thick brush and shrubbery, police added.The woman was inside of the partially submerged vehicle, while the man, who had not been wearing his seatbelt, was ejected and submerged in the water to the rear of the truck.The crash remains under investigation and more information will be released after death notifications are made to next of kin.
