Under a grant received from PennEast, the Kidder Township police department will be adding another weapon to its arsenal. The Tracs System will allow the township's officers to e-ticket for moving violations.

"There is a tablet in the vehicle and we will be able to scan the bar code on the driver's license or the registration and be able to print the ticket and hand it to the driver," said Detective Neil Yurchak. "The ticket information is then immediately uploaded to the district magistrate's office and we will no longer have to drive all the way to Weatherly to deliver the copies."The township has awarded a contract to Shiffer Bituminous for the stormwater repairs to Old Stage Road. The project will cost $20,900 and the bulk of it will be paid out of a grant from the dirt and gravel institute.The township has approved the hiring of a part-time office assistant. Cindy Morato will work a 24-hour schedule at a rate of $13 per hour.Lake Harmony Fire Chief Ralph Lennon informed the supervisors that Lake Harmony Assistant Fire Chief Steve Lilick was awarded the James A. Miller memorial award for Pennsylvania Fireman of the year for 2016 at this year's state convention.Lennon was honored with the same award in 2007. This is the first time that two firefighters from the same company have received this prestigious recognition.
