Several people escaped serious injury this morning when involved in a violent crash along Packerton  Dam Road in Mahoning township. The crash occurred at 7 a.m. as the driver of a BMW sedan failed to negotiate a curve. The car slid across the west bound lane hitting a tree at the driver's door. Mahoning Valley and Lehighton fire companies and Lehighton paramedics responded to the scene. Mahoning township police are investigating the incident. Copyright Larry Neff/Special to the Times News
