Schuylkill crashes
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported crashes on Schuylkill County roads.
• The first crash was reported at 8:19 a.m. Tuesday along Route 901 (Gordon Nagle Trail) in North Manheim Township. Brittany L. Heffner, 22, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound when she drove off the right side of the road and down an embankment about 20 feet before coming to rest on its right side against a tree.Heffner and her passenger, a baby girl, had to be freed from the vehicle by rescue personnel from the Yorkville Fire Company, Pottsville.Both were taken to the Lehigh Valley South Jackson Street Medical Center, Pottsville, for evaluation. Heffner was cited for the crash.• The second crash Tuesday was a hit-and-run incident that occurred at 9:45 a.m. along Route 61 in North Manheim Township.Troopers said Theresa J. Clark, 58, of Pottsville, was southbound driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze when another vehicle attempted to merge into the left land and struck Clark's vehicle on the right side.After impact, both drivers pulled onto the west berm. The other driver got out of his vehicle, looked at the damage, and then got back into his vehicle and fled the scene southbound. Clark was not injured.The other driver was described as an older white man (age range of 60-70), driving possibly a blue Chevrolet, with state registration. The registration could be a combination of GRW3515. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-739-1330.• State police at Frackville said Cynthia J. Zimmerman, 19, of Auburn, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Express southbound on Route 309 in Kline Township at 11:29 a.m. on Saturday when she attempted a left turn onto Plant Road from the right lane.Troopers said she turned into the right side of a 2006 Honda Pilot operated southbound in the left lane by Aaron J. Kulp, 19, of Kutztown, Berks County.No injuries were reported.Troopers cited Zimmerman for the crash.
