Seven defendants who previously pleaded guilty to driving under the influence were sentenced on Monday in Carbon County court by Judge Joseph J. Matika.

Kevin Robert Longazel, 38, of Freeland was sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison followed by 59 months in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program with the first 60 days on electronic monitoring. He must also pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months, render 100 hours of community service, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and continue his counseling sessions.He will serve the jail term on consecutive weekends beginning at 6 p.m. Friday.Longazel was arrested on March 23 along Lehigh Gorge Drive in Lehigh Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.Diane Marrero, 35, of Jim Thorpe, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year and render 25 hours of community service. She was arrested on April 19 along Route 209 by Nesquehoning police. A test showed the presence of a controlled substance.She was previously placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked for not paying her fines and costs.She will being the jail term at 9 a.m. Oct. 28, serving the three days straight.John Stephen Pavliga, 80, of Dunmore, was sentenced to serve five days to six months in jail, a fine of $300, license suspended for a year, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and render 25 hours of community service. He was arrested on June 4 by Kidder Township police along Route 903 in Lake Harmony.The jail term begins at noon Oct. 28 and will serve three days and then on Nov. 4, two days.Terrance Lee Reason Sr., 49, of Lansdowne, Delaware County, was placed in the IPP for six months with the first 15 days on electronic monitoring, He was also ordered to pay a fine of $300, license suspended for a year, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use and continue outpatient counseling. The IPP will be handled by Delaware County.He was arrested on Sept. 7, 2015, along Route 940 by Kidder Township police. He refused a blood test.Lucas Robert Johnson,22, of Freeland, was placed in the IPP for two years with the first 20 days on electronic monitoring. He was also ordered to render 25 hours of community service, zero tolerance for drug and alcohol use, pay a fine of $500 and license suspended for a year. On a summary offense of driving while license suspended he was fined $200 and costs.He was arrested on April 24 by Weatherly police along Main Street. A test revealed a 0.16 BAC.The IPP will be handled by Luzerne County.Richard A. Vandermark, 64, of White Haven was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service. He was arrested on Jan. 31 by Kidder Township police. No test results were noted.Miguel Angel Colon-Banks,22, of Philadelphia, was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service.He was arrested on June 14, 2014, at the intersection of Route 940 at the turnpike entrance ramp in Kidder Township by state police at the Pocono barracks. A test showed 0.12 BAC. He is currently an inmate in the Philadelphia prison on other criminal charges.Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
