Students in the Tamaqua Area School District will have the opportunity to get a free flu shot through the Health Hero PA vaccination program. Flu shots will be given on Nov. 1 to all students who return a signed consent form to their individual school.
Consent forms must be returned no later than Friday.Flu is one of the most preventable illnesses through the use of vaccines.The Health Hero program is a totally voluntary vaccination at school program that helps stop the spread of the disease among children. This year, program directors expect to immunize an estimated half million students.Anyone with questions about the flu is encouraged to visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at
