Carbon County court - Drugs

Two people entered guilty pleas on Friday in Carbon County court to drug counts.

President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II accepted the pleas from the following:Rickey Alan Tartaglia, 29, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on March 6, 2015, when Palmerton police responded to the parking lot of the Rite Aid pharmacy at 601 Delaware Ave. to a report of a suspicious man. Tartaglia was found with items used for ingesting heroin.Tartaglia is currently an inmate in the county prison awaiting action on a probation violation petition filed by the adult probation office. He was previously placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked for violating conditions.Nanovic placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and zero tolerance imposed on drug and alcohol use.Jessica Lynn Padilla,28, of Wilmington, Delaware, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on Aug. 8, 2014, by Franklin Township police along Route 209 following a traffic stop. She was a passenger in the vehicle and found to have needles used for heroin.She was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation.Both defendants must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation.
