Driver leads police on high-speed chase
A Schuylkill County driver led police on a high-speed chase on Aug. 20.State police at Schuylkill Haven said Bradley McKeone, 24, of Pottsville, fled officers about 4:01 p.m. along Mill Creek Road in East Norwegian Township.The chase continued through the township and Port Carbon Borough before McKeone was stopped in Blythe Township.Troopers said he had a stolen license plate on his vehicle that belonged to aPottsville woman.He was charged with fleeing and eluding police and other counts.Driver loses control on wet roadState police at Frackville are investigating a one-vehicle crash that was reported at 7:13 a.m. Sept. 30 along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Bradly D. Helman, 34, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C300 southbound in the left lane when he attempted to slow down and suddenly lost control on the wet road. The vehicle traveled onto the east berm where it struck the guide rail with the front end. The vehicle came to rest on the east berm facing south.Helman was not injured. He was cited for the crash.Driver cited for numerous violationsA crash occurred about midnight on Oct. 1 along Tuscarora Mountain Road in Ryan Township. State police at Frackville said Jacob N. Pester, 20, of McAdoo, was driving a 2003 Subaru WRX southbound. While negotiating a left curve he lost control of the vehicle and it starter to slide counterclockwise. The car traveled off the road and struck a utility pole with its front end before rolling over onto the driver's side and coming to rest down a 20-foot embankment.Troopers said Pester was able to crawl out of the wreckage. He failed to give immediate notice of the crash to police. Pester, who had a minor injury, was cited for numerous motor vehicle code violations, troopers added.Injuries minor in Wayne crashMinor injuries were reported in a one-vehicle crash at 1:50 a.m. on Saturday along Schwartz Valley Road, in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County.State police at Schuylkill Haven said James F. Dietz Jr., 21, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2003 Nissan 350Z at a hight rate of speed westbound while he crested a small grade.The Nissan became airborne, began to spin and traveled off the westbound shoulder, up an embankment for about 300 feet crashing into a small trailer and sport utility vehicle parked about 35-feet from the road. The impact caused the trailer and SUV into a main support beam of a barn on Schwartz Valley Road. The Nissan then spun clockwise nearly 180-degreesand slid back out onto the road.Dietz, who was not wearing a seat belt, and his passenger, Victoria M. Cannizzaro, 19, of Pottsville, sustained minor injuries but did not require immediate medical attention. Troopers cited Dietz for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.
