State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary and theft incidents.

The break-in occurred at a residence in the 1000 block of Church Road in Towamensing Township, Carbon County. A 25-year-old woman reported that several pieces of jewelry were removed from her residence. The incident was reported at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 25.A 31-year-old woman ofHawk Farm Road in Kunkletown, Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported the license plate on her vehicle was either taken or lost. The incident occurred on Sept. 26.An attempted theft from vehicle incident was reported on Sept. 25 at 11:50 p.m. Troopers said a 28-year-old woman fromAstolat Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County, reported she came outside her home and observed a person dressed in dark-colored clothing opening the hatch on her vehicle. The suspect ran off in an unknown direction. No property was reported taken from the vehicle, troopers said.
