A Pottsville woman was cited by Tamaqua Police after she was found passed out on a sidewalk on Sept. 28.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of Pine and Mauch Chunk streets after a passing motorist called the Schuylkill County Communications center at 11:22 p.m. They found Melissa Ann Rossin, 41, of 730 Water St., Pottsville, on the sidewalk. She smelled strongly of alcohol and was unable to speak coherently to officers and EMS personnel.Rossin was transported by ambulance to St. Luke's Miners Campus in Coaldale for observation and treatment.Police cited her for public drunkenness.
