Man pleads guilty in heroin trafficking case

Ryan Hunsinger, 27, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani in Scranton, to trafficking in large quantities of heroin in January 2016.

According to United States Attorney Bruce D. Brand, the incident happened on Jan. 18.The Hazleton man pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute in excess of 100 grams of heroin and admitted to traveling to Philadelphia, where he obtained more that 700 grams of heroin. Officials found more than 19,000 bags of heroin in Hunsinger's vehicle.Hunsinger faces between five and 40 years in prison, the minimum and maximum sentence times.
