Traffic incidents in Nesquehoning

Nesquehoning police cited two commercial vehicle drivers after they failed to stop at a posted stopping area.

On Sept. 28 and Oct. 3, police pulled over commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of over 21,000 pounds after officers observed the drivers fail to stop at the top of the Broad Mountain coming into the borough.The steep mountain has been the site of numerous tractor-trailer crashes, most recently March 31, April 1 and 2, as a result of not stopping at the posted pull-off.The drivers were identified as Carlos Figueroa-Roman of Jersey City, New Jersey, and Cesar Barrera of Perth Amboy, New Jersey.Figueroa-Roman and Barrera were both cited for failure to obey traffic control devices.Nesquehoning police also issued another traffic citation on Oct. 4 after a driver passed in a no passing zone along Route 54. The driver's name was not released.
