Summit Hill Police Chief Joseph Fittos Jr. has reported the following incidents:

DUI: On Aug. 13 at 12:02 a.m., police observed a vehicle parked on Hazard Street running with a male slumped over the steering wheel. Police conducted a field sobriety test. When the officer went to put something in the cruiser, the driver, Christopher Barachie, 35, of 321 N. Third St. Lehighton, fled the scene. A foot chase ensued and Barachie was taken into custody. He was charged with DUI, resisting arrest, and escape.Public drunkenness: On Sept. 15, police received a report of a stranger laying in a resident's yard. Police responded and later found Wendy Kaminitsky, 38, of 352 W. White St. Summit Hill, walking down the street under the influence of some type of drug. She was charged with trespassing and public drunkenness.Criminal mischief: James Hollar, 39, of 113 W. Holland St. Summit Hill, was charged with criminal mischief for an incident on July 5 in which a garbage can was hit intensely by Hollar.Vehicle theft: On Aug. 26, police were dispatched for a report of a vehicle theft. The investigation found that Kyle Bruno, 18, of 30 E. Holland St., Summit Hill, and an 11-year-old boy, had taken the vehicle. Charges were filed for theft of a motor vehicle, corruption of minors, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and drivers required to be licensed. There was a warrant issued for Bruno, and he was picked up on that warrant without incident.Pending cases: On Sept. 8, a break-in was reported at the St. Gabriel Italian Club, and cash was taken. The matter remains under investigation.On Sept. 16, it was reported to police that someone went into a resident's yard in the 300 block of E. Hazard Street and took several items out of the yard. The matter remains under investigation.
