'Miss Dolly' the trolley for sale

Schuylkill County is getting out of the trolley business, again.

Electric trolley service around Pottsville ended in 1932.Now the county is looking to sell its bus made to look like a trolley, which was used for special excursions over the last decade. The Schuylkill County Commissioners passed a resolution on Wednesday starting the process of selling their trolley bus, known to riders as the 'Dolly Trolley'.It was used for a special route connecting Pottsville and the Hometown Farmers Market during the summer season.Commissioner George Halcovage said that the trolley isn't being used, and they hope to find a buyer who will use it."It's nice to have, but with the upkeep, and the amount of times, it can be used, the money is better spent making sure we can move people from a mass transit basis around the county. The trolley was named 'Miss Dolly' in honor of longtime STS employee Dorothy 'Dolly' Kuehn, who passed away in February.
