A woman was handcuffed and placed into a state police cruiser after being involved in a crash along Mahoning Mountain Road Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred as the woman was traveling west on Mahoning Mountain road just before the intersection with Ben Salem road. She failed to negotiate a slight curve in the roadway entering the right berm riding a steep earth embankment.

The car rolled back to the roadway coming to rest on its side.

A short time later a friend of the woman walked to the scene inquiring about her condition.

After speaking to troopers, she was also placed in cuffs.State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
