A New Ringgold man who was driving under the influence when he crashed his pickup into the porch of an East Brunswick Township house in 2010 is back behind bars in state prison after violating the terms of his house arrest.

Luis A. Melendez, 57, had his intermediate punishment status revoked by Schuylkill County Judge John J. Domalakes.Domalakes sentenced Melendez to one year to five years in prison, and to pay court costs and fees. He gave him credit for 81 days served.Melendez was charged by state police at Frackville with driving under the influence, highest rate; disregarding traffic lanes; speeding; restrictions on alcoholic beverages; failure to use safety belt system; and driving while his license was suspended on Nov. 14, 2010.Melendez was charged by state police on July 2 with corruption of minors.In other rulings, Schuylkill County judges ruled on three people charged by Rush Township police:Joseph Komar,22, Weatherly: Charged by Rush Township police with three counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Sept. 23, 2014.Domalakes found him guilty, and sentenced Komar to 72 hours to six months in jail, with immediate parole after the minimum. Domalakes also fined him $1,000 and ordered him to pay court costs and fees.Komar was also ordered to complete the Alcohol Highway Safety School, undergo outpatient drug treatment and random drug screenings.Komar was ordered to surrender his license for 12 months and perform 20 hours of community service.Ashley L. Roberts, 31, Weissport: Charged by Rush Township police with retail theft and a drug offense on April 23, 2010.President Judge William E. Baldwin revoked her probation after she admitted committing subsequent offenses, and failing to pay court costs and fees.But instead of sending her back to jail, he put her back on probation for 18 months.Matthew L. Plieth, 27, Lansford: Charged by Rush Township police with theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy on Jan. 7.Plieth pleaded guilty to the theft and receiving charges.Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin sentenced Plieth to 24 months probation, and ordered him to pay $154 restitution.
